Folk rockers post Brexit, according to Private Eye

Colin Randall writes: musicians and presumably other touring artists still face appalling bureaucracy if they have the gall to want to play in EU countries. Even that arch-Leaver Roger Daltry moaned about it enough to sign a petition.

It’s what those 17.4m souls, some still with us, voted for in 2016: taking back control of our own misfortune.

But humour may have emerged as the one tangible Brexit gain.

I am indebted to Alastair Thomson at the excellent Fairporters Facebook group for this cartoon from the current Private Eye. He urges people go out and buy a copy for themselves but says it was just ‘ too good not to share’

Perhaps I’ll be going one better. I did buy mine yesterday but somehow mislaid it before even opening its pages so will probably have to buy another one.

Still, this will keep a smile on my face as I fork out all over again ….
