Song of the Day Revisited: Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman ... The Queen and the Soldier

With this latest entry, making two in less than 24 hours, Salut! Live's Song of the Day Revisited series will rest on its laurels for two or three days. Please see all entries at http://www.salutlive.com/song-of-the-day-revisited/. And happy 40th birthday greetings to Kathryn Roberts, one of the duo responsible for magic that's about to flow ...

Song of the Day Revisited: Jim Causley ... My Young Man's a Cornishman

Second in a row from Pete Sixsmith. After his choice of Bellowhead's Prickle-eye Bush yesterday, he turns to Jim Causley and one of the few parts of the UK he has never visited. As with Bellowhead, this is a departure from the main purpose of Song of the Day Revisited since Jim did not feature in the original series ...

Song of the Day Revisited: Bellowhead ... Prickle-eye Bush

Here are two further departures for Salut! Live's Song of the Day Revisited series: the choice was made by one of the site's great friends and occasional contributors Pete Sixmsith, not me, and it is not Revisited at all but an addition to the original 2011 series. Song of the Day Revisited: Jackson C Frank ... Blues Run The Game

Enjoy it while the enthusiasm lasts. This is another in the revival series, Song of the Day Revisited. My choices so far have drawn entirely on the material that ran at Salut! Live between June and August 2011; the format may change. The re-posted and in some cases updated articles replace the originals. This is one of the songs I really wanted to master but could not; so far as I recall I never dared sing it in a folk club, whatever else I was prepared to murder ...

What a tragic life Jackson C Frank led.

At 11, living in Cheektowaga, New York State, he suffered severe burns in a school fire that killed 18 of his classmates.

Song of the Day Revisited: Sharon Shannon/ Dessie O'Halloran ... Say You Love Me

This is pure fun. And it's the latest instalment in Salut! Live's retro series Song of the Day Revisited. I have always loved Sharon Shannon's wonderful musicianship and spirit of adventure. Let my 2011 words, below and only slightly updated, describe my choice of this song for the original series ...
